We are a people’s running team.
Everyone wants a home team.
Their singlets in the crowd are a comforting sight. Their voices scream our names as we dig deep and push forward. Their shoulders carry and comfort us in our times of need.
We train together, achieve together.
Run, together.
Home is
where the herd is.
Welcome home.

We welcome all people (and friendly canines, if applicable,) to run with us.
A longtime dream made into reality, our team was launched to give competitive runners of every level a safe and supportive space for the athletes to be themselves wholly.
The Elefantes People’s Running Team goals include:
Fostering the growth and development of runners.
Creating a space that brings the power of team training and camaraderie together with individual goals.
Growing and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the running community at large.
To be an active and contributing part of the communities we live and run in.
To run hard and with heart.
Why Elefantes?
Sometimes we need a catalyst to see the power that has been within us all along, a “magic feather” to help us have the confidence to spread our wings and take flight–a notion of internal magic that helps us unlock our potential.
It started as a tie between training partners: Meredith was dubbed Christina’s magic feather. Late one night, there may have been wine and laughter involved, and the spirit of it became known as “elefantes. Por vida.”
Ever since Christina found her magic feather, she has wanted to help others learn they, too, can fly.
Sensitive and intelligent, elephants are fiercely loyal and led largely by matriarchs. Generational knowledge is essential, and the herd honors their community with a deep responsibility for one another. Mysteriously and markedly different, elephants demand respect for their power and presence and awe for their grace.
We celebrate harnessing our power as we chase the feeling of freedom and leave that which weighs us down behind. Elefantes Running was born of a desire to run hard and with heart.
Together, the Herd is unstoppable.
Most members of Elefantes Running Team live and run primarily on the land of Lisjan (Ohlone), Karkin, and Chochenyo people.
